20th Annual Furball – May 5, 2018

Jumptown Big Band is excited to be performing for the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon’s 20th Annual Furball. This fundraising event will be held at the Portland Art Museum on Saturday May 5th starting at 6pm. The theme of this year’s event is A”cat”emy Awards. In addition to music by Jumptown Big Band, this star-studded event will include silent and live auctions and an awards ceremony. The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon is an organization dedicated to improving the welfare and reducing the population of feral and stray cats. Aurora Colony Vineyards Concert – July 19, 2017

Wednesday nights this summer are big band feature nights at Aurora Colony Vineyards sponsored by North Willamette Valley Friends of Music. This elegant winery, located in an outstanding country setting, is just a short drive south from Portland. Performances are on their beautiful outdoor patio.

Jumptown Big Band is scheduled to perform on July 19th 7pm to 9pm. The band will be playing some well known big band arrangements as well as entertaining jazz charts that feature our fantastic soloists. Portland big band vocalist Claudia Knauer will also be with us to sing some really fun tunes. You will not want to miss hearing these great arrangements written specifically for a full 17-piece jazz ensemble.

$10 cover charge at the door. Food and drink are available for purchase in the tasting room.

Autumn Dance at Cerimon House – October 23, 2016

Oct 23 Autumn DanceJumptown Big Band will be performing for an autumn dance at Cerimon House in NE Portland on Sunday October 23rd 1:30pm to 4:00pm. It will be an amazing afternoon of swing, foxtrot, waltz, cha-cha, and more at a fantastic cultural event venue in the vibrant Alberta District. The entire room will be available for dancing with refreshments available in the adjacent room for your social enjoyment.

This will be a special opportunity to hear some of the most talented musicians in the Portland area performing the well known dance band standards of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman along with classic hits rarely performed from the libraries of Les Brown, Ted Heath, and Henry Mancini. This is dance band music that was created for dancers.

St. Luke Church Performance – June 26, 2016

Jumptown Big Band will be performing at St. Luke Lutheran Church on Sunday June 26th 11:30am to 1:00pm for a church picnic. Come hear the band perform music in a relaxed concert “luau” setting and meet some wonderful members of the church congregation. The band is most appreciative of the support St. Luke has provided to us the past few years and we are honored to be asked to play for their event. We will be performing a variety of swing, latin, and jazz tunes in contribution to what will be a fun family event for the church. Victory On The Homefront – November 1, 2015

Jump­town Big Band will be performing at the event Victory On The Homefront at Oregon National Guard, Camp Withycombe in Clackamas on Sun­day November 1st at 4:00pm. This event, sponsored by “Helping Men Heal”, honors non-profit organizations that support our military service members, the professionals within these organizations who go above and beyond, and the uniformed service members & their families who have not only survived but overcome their invisible wounds. The band will be providing music for your listening and dancing enjoyment prior to the formal awards ceremony. Admis­sion is free, but RSVP is required through the event website to gain admission to the military base. Camp Withycombe is located at 15300 SE Industrial Way, Clackamas, Oregon 97015.
